I don't know exactly how many themes you have available to choose from, but I would imagine it is in the thousands, to say the very least. The simple fact of the matter is, however, many of these themes are not going to provide you with exactly what you need to make sure that your website is going to be recognized by the search engines. Yes, many of them may look very nice and provide you with an excellent backdrop to captivate your readers, but unless you are getting those readers from the search engines in the first place, you might as well pack it in and go home.
That is why I developed this very simple wordpress blog theme, and it works extremely well in getting you listed in the search engines for the keywords of your choice. Not only that, it is an excellent theme for blog pages that drives traffic to your affiliate and Adsense links, because it does not clutter up the screen with too many distractions. I tend to focus on one main keyword or keyword phrase whenever designing one of these websites that uses this theme and then go for multiple longtail keywords on any article pages that are uploaded to the blog.
One other thing that I find that this theme is excellent for is for use with sales pages. Because I like to incorporate my entire domain into the blog, I use the main page as my sales page and then spawn off the blog directly from the sales page through the links at the bottom. I find that this is extremely effective in helping my sales pages to rank quickly and to continue to pull in traffic from the search engines while I also use the same theme, either with or without a header in order to develop my blog in the background. These blog pages are also extremely simplified so it is easy to flip visitors from search engines over into my sales page and to generate leads and sales from that point.
